Sound of Thunder 2025

Writer: Muzza SutherlandMuzza Sutherland

The weather varied over the 3 days from misty rain to bright sunshine. For qualifying the track was still damp in places and a bit sketchy on slicks but I still managed a front row P2.

Superstock Open race one conditions were perfect and a fresh rear slick gave me the confidence to push. Nailed the start and led from turn one to the chequered clocking a lap record along the way. Bagged the win in race two as well by a quite a substantial margin.

Day 3 started with some more misty rain. I had already made the call to concentrate on the one race I had left in SS open and luckily the weather had blown through by the time we lined up on the grid. A good, but not perfect start got me to turn one first. With a rear tyre past it's best I had to work a bit harder to maintain the lead but still managed a couple of laps in the 39s and cruised to the line.

The Mecanica M1100RS purred all weekend taking 3 wins from 3 and the Superstock Open title.

Campbell Stevenson on his Mecanica M700R taking top honours in Superstock ltd, 2nd in F3 and achieving a PB.

Mike Condliffe was struggling to get off the line and a bit off his best pace on the M1100R but still had a great time.

Andy Taylor went great on his M900R until the engine expired with a suspected broken conrod.

Evan on his 750 placed well and also walked away with a PB.

Big thanks to Sue & the crew. Keith, Andy, James, Lana and all those that support us.

All in all a very enjoyable weekend.
